President Barack Obama’s adviser Van Jones has resigned amid controversy over past inflammatory statements, the White House said early Sunday.

You can almost feel the disappointment in the reporter’s tone.

Hawaii’s state Senate overwhelmingly approved a bill Wednesday to celebrate “Islam Day” _ over the objections of a few lawmakers who said they didn’t want to honor a religion connected to Sept. 11, 2001.

Oh yeah, and what day did they pick? September 24–13 days after September 11. Nice.

BTW, as Michelle Malkin noted, there’s no “Christianity Day” in Hawaii. Surprising, isn’t it?

Arlen Specter of Pennsylvania finally made the switch to the Democrat party today. Naturally, according to Specter, the reason for his flip-flop is “I now find my political philosophy more in line with Democrats than Republicans.”

Well, no duh. The rest of us already knew that a long time ago.

But Gateway Pundit notes from a statement by Specter the REAL reason he’s making the switch:

…I am unwilling to have my twenty-nine year Senate record judged by the Pennsylvania Republican primary electorate.

I would’nt either, ya RINO.

For Kerry’s sake, I hope that “I was for legal abortion, before I was against it briefly for political reasons, before I was for it again” is an acceptible explanation at the entrance to the Pearly Gates.

Situational ethics and relativism at their worst.

“Nonetheless, to the extent that terrorists have come into our country or suspected or known terrorists have entered our country across a border, it’s been across the Canadian border. There are real issues there.”

Tomorrow, Friday, the Great American Tea Party takes place. Thousands of people across the country will get in on the act to protest Obummer’s and the Democrat-controlled Congress’ record-breaking spending spree on your (and your children’s and grandchildren’s) dime. Michelle Malkin has listed a TON of locations on her blog.

Unfortunately for me and maybe some of you, geography and other reasons are keeping me from attending an event. And this thing’s kind of personal for me: in less than five weeks my wife will give birth to our first child, who will sadly already be burdened with nearly $30,000 in debt thanks to Obummer’s, Pelousy’s and Reid’s insatiable appetites for spending OUR money to buy votes for themselves.

So I’ve come up with an idea: send them all a tea bag to register your displeasure! Make sure to use a padded envelope and send to one (or all three) of the following addresses:
