Now that McCain has pretty much become a shoe-in (no, Hillary, I spelled it “shoe,” not “Hsu“) for the Republican nomination, expect to see the MSM trash their favorite Republican from now until the November election.
You’ll see the headlines they were holding back, like these:
- McCain’s Keating Five past could haunt his candidacy
- Immigration stance could hurt McCain with conservative voters
And they’ll point out with fawning praise how he has “reached out across the aisle” to work with liberals like Ted Kennedy and Russ Feingold (for that matter, he technically works with a liberal 100 percent of the time–himself).
Also, after the 2004 campaign–where military and combat experience for presidential candidates were all the rage among the MSM–it will suddenly (and quite conveniently) become irrelevant (sort of like in 1992 and 1996, too).
Watch for it, sure as God made little green apples.
