The Underground Conservative

Vote… for… Romney!

I haven’t said much about who I’d like to see as President. Until now.

I had initially liked Duncan Hunter because of his conservative creds. But unfortunately, he found little traction in a hostile media so he bowed out.

My next choice, Fred Thompson, did poorly in his must-win state, South Carolina, so he dropped out.

And so I voted early (I’m a Floridian) for Romney.

Romney’s not the ideal conservative choice but he’s the best of the lot right now, IMHO. He’s anti-abortion, pro-business, supports lower taxes, and as Maggie Gallagher noted ironically, “the only guy with just one wife is the Mormon.” Oh yeah, and most importantly for me, he believes we need to win the global war on terror.

Then there’s Ann Coulter’s contrarian stance (I have a bit of the contrarian in me too): “The candidate Republicans should be clamoring for is the one liberals are feverishly denouncing. That is Mitt Romney by a landslide.”

I’d elaborate more, but it’s late and it’s been a long day. I hope you agree with me that Romney’s the best person to be our next president.
