John Edwards’ keeps 2004 campaign promise–sort of
Am I the only one who saw this? Yesterday, I was as glad as anyone to see Buffalo Bills tight end Kevin Everett get up and walk again. For those of you who don’t follow football, the significance of this event is that earlier in the football season, Everett suffered a severe spinal cord injury, one that was expected to leave him paralyzed for life.
Well, as soon as I saw Everett walking on my TV, I was reminded of John Edwards’ campaign promise from 2004, that if John Kerry and he were elected President and Vice-President respectively, people would be getting up from their wheelchairs and start walking again.
Well, it seems to me that despite Edwards (and Kerry) not getting elected in 2004, a wheelchair-bound man (Everett) has gotten up and started walking again.
Anyone holding their breath waiting to see if Edwards (and anyone in the lamestream media) will give the credit for this miracle to George Bush?
